At AuPaired there is nothing more important to us than the safety of our au pairs and host families. We pride ourselves in providing a service that is trouble-free and secure, but you should always exercise caution at every step of the au pair process. We strongly encourage you read the tips and guidelines below to stay safe as you use our app and website.Do

Use your common sense and trust your instincts.

Ask as many questions as you need to until you are comfortable with the other person.

Follow up the AuPaired chat with a video call, on Facetime, Skype or Whatsapp.

Ask for additional references.

For au pairs, ask to speak with a previous au pair if there has been one; for families ask to speak to the au pair's previous host family if possible.

Prevent someone from contacting you by clicking the "block" button on their profile.

Report a suspicious profile clicking the "report" button on their profile.

Use our Identity Verification service to perform a comprehensive identity check.

Inform AuPaired immediately if you notice any behaviour which appears illegal or against our terms of service.
Don't

Never respond to requests to move off the AuPaired app chat to email or Whatsapp, until you are ready to conduct a video chat.

Don't ever give out your personal details, including your last name, email, phone number or physical address, until you are ready to proceed with an au pair or host family.

Don't send money of any kind to someone in advance. Au Pairs can be reimbursed for their travel costs when they arrive.

Never accept an offer for a third party, in the form of another person or company to help with the au pair process.

Never reveal your password or enter in response to an email that appears to be from AuPaired. AuPaired will never ask for your password except on our official app and website.
