Identity Verification
If you've already found an au pair or host family and had a chance to chat with them with the AuPaired app, you may want to consider using our Identity Verification Service. It's a comprehensive service that checks a variety of data about the user including their ID documents, digital footprint, and facial biometrics, to give you the confidence to know who you're dealing with. Here's how it works.-
1
They receive a message
Once you've purchased Identity Verification for an au pair or family, we'll send them an email to start the verification process. They'll be asked to take a selfie with their mobile or web cam, share at least two social media account details, and take front and rear pictures of their ID document.
-
2
We verify their identity
We'll authenticate the validity of their ID document and complete a biometric facial verification, extracting and scoring identity information from the ID documents, their online identity, location, and other attributes.
-
3
We give them a score
We'll cross-reference these identity attributes, match them and score them against each other to drive an overall 'identity confirmation score'.
-
4
We notify you of the result
If the identity confirmation score meets our satisfaction, we'll let you know via the app that they have passed Identity Verification. Note that under data protection laws we can only tell you whether they have passed or failed but we can't give you their personal details. We advise that once they have passed the Identity Verification, you ask to see these documents yourself in person.
-
5
You decide what's next
If they have passed Identity Verification it means that AuPaired is satisfied that they are likely to be who they say they are. You now have the choice of how you'd to proceed.
